Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark será continuación de Fall of Cybertron pero habrá un ligero cambio en esta ocasión, además de ahora ser desarrollado por Edge of Reality, está nueva entrega fusionará el universo de los dos títulos anteriores en la saga Cybertron, con el Universo de las películas de Michael Bay.
El título ha sido nombrado “complemento” de la película Transformers: Age of Extinction y saldrá en PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U y 3DS. Tanto War for Cybertron como Fall of Cybertron a cargo de High Moon Studios, fueron un par de títulos bastante sólidos, y parte de ello debido a que no estaban sujetos a la agenda de las películas. A pesar de que Edge of Reality tiene bajo el brazo la versión de PS3 de Mass Effect, la versión para consolas de Dragon Age: Origins y el reciente free-to-play Loadout en PC, es muy probable que fans de la serie no vean con muy buenos ojos el cambio y fusión de universos.
Quizá previendo descontentos, Activision menciona que Rise of the Dark Spark “tendrá características similares de gameplay a la serie Cybertron de High Moon Studios” ademas de el modo multijugador cooperativo Escalation estará de regreso, ahora con un sistema de nivel unificado a lo largo de la campaña y multijugador. De igual forma que en los juegos pasados, la campaña en solitario nos pondrá en control tanto de los Autobots como de los Decepticons.

Serving as a follow-up to both the upcoming TRANSFORMERS live-action film and Activision’s TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON and TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON titles, TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE DARK SPARK jumps worlds and factions as it weaves the tale of the hunt for an ancient relic as powerful as the Matrix of Leadership – the Dark Spark. Players will be able to switch between the heroes of the noble AUTOBOTS and the nefarious DECEPTICONS throughout the single-player campaign. Similar to High Moon Studios’ CYBERTRON entries in the highly regarded series, gameplay features nimble, fast-paced running-and-gunning combat paired with traversal and vehicle action across open battlefields for large-scale, dynamic conflicts.
Players will also see the return of the fan-favorite multiplayer mode, Escalation, which delivers wave-based, survival-style gameplay for up to four players online cooperatively.
